Clutter at home is often one of the immediate consequences of a low mood. And many times it is also the cause of our stress and anxiety.
With these ideas, cleaning will be synonymous with healing.
1. Don’t take it too seriously
If you are going to clean to reduce anxiety, it doesn’t make too much sense for the cleaning itself to stress you out.
Forget those ads in which unexpected visitors are going to judge us by the amount of dust accumulated. Now let’s face the task calmly, without haste or expectations.
The goal is not a magazine salon, but the enjoyment that can come from the process.
2. Break the circle We are depressed, we give up taking care of the house
The chaotic house makes us feel guilty and we punish ourselves thinking about why we are not able to keep the house in order. We get depressed.
Get out of this spiral, which is absurd to begin with: when things are not clean we do not relax, on the contrary, we may feel more anxious.
3. Where do I start?
When the whole house is in chaos, the problem is precisely that cleaning can be temporarily more chaotic if, for example, we empty the closet to organize it in depth.
Tackling such a daunting task can be too overwhelming, so as professional organizers at GREEN MAIDS we recommend starting with the laundry area:
if we can put the washing machine on full throttle and hang out without any clutter, everything will go smoothly.
It helps to have separate laundry baskets for black, white and colored clothes.
4. The order of the order
After your beautiful laundry, the rooms should be organized in this order: first the kitchen, then the bathroom, then the bedroom and finally the living room.
The first two rooms are the most grateful and the most hygienic for sanitary reasons. And they are water areas, so the presence of the liquid element will help you relax.
The bedroom can only be perfect when the sheets have gone through the laundry and the bathroom is ready; and the living room, being the passage area where correspondence, bags from the street and shopping accumulate, it is better to be the last to be cleaned:
this is where all the clutter converges and you will want to deposit them in their corresponding room previously ordered.
5. Order, the best medicine
Not only our mental health is compromised when our house is chaotic, it also increases the likelihood of fatigue, headaches, gastrointestinal discomfort and other physiological manifestations of anxiety. When your countertop is clear, you will see a noticeable improvement.
